Biomass

Organic material from living or recently living animals or plants. Biomass is a renewable energy source as biofuels can be burned directly or converted into liquid fuels. Although renewable, biomass can have negative environmental impacts (for example, reducing biodiversity and producing particulate matter), and can reduce land use for food production.
