Air Conditioning (AC)

An electrical system used to cool air in a building or vehicle. As the climate warms, air conditioning usage will likely increase. Air conditioning is energy-intensive and therefore contributes to climate change but can be important for productive indoor working and learning and can be life-saving in extreme heat. The most vulnerable to heat-related illnesses typically have the least access to air conditioning.
