Definition
The health needs of people who relocate their home. This can include people who are forced to relocate (displaced) due to extreme weather or environmental degradation. Typically, migration refers to people who change their country of residence, but migration may be internal (within the same country). Migrants typically have additional health needs and vulnerabilities to the resident population. For example, relating to their journey, history of trauma or stressful experiences, and access to services in their new location (not only health services, but also employment, education, housing, and more).
