Adaptation

The process of adjusting to the actual or expected effects of climate change. Typically, adaptation refers to reducing vulnerabilities to limit the negative impacts of climate change (e.g. installing flood defences, implementing early warning systems). It can also refer to adjustments to take advantage of new opportunities (e.g. growing new crops).
